CBD works in tandem with one of your body's systems known as the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

The function of the ECS is to regulate stress relief, immune response and maintain homeostasis including appetite, sleep, mood and pain.  Cannabinoid receptors are capable of receiving signals from both your body's own naturally produced cannabinoids and cannabinoids produced by plants, such as CBD

The ECS is made from a collection of Cannabinoid receptors located all over the body, however most are found predominantly in the brain. Your main Cannabinoid receptors are:

a) CB1 mainly located in the brain and;

b) CB2 mainly located around your internal organs

Your naturally produced Endocannabinoids send signals to your ECS, influencing homeostasis. Plant based Cannabinoids interact with your ECS in two ways. The first is by directly influencing your CB1 and CB2 receptors; the second is by slowing down the rate at which your enzymes break down your Endocannabinoids, giving your ECS a little boost.
