Chloe here. As Christmas draws closer, I’ve been giving some thought to shopping, and where I’ll be stocking up on gifts for loved ones. This year - like many of us - I’m trying my best to shop in a more conscious and sustainable way, buying from independent sellers (much like us here at The London Botanists) and locally too, whenever possible.
Why should you shop independently, with small businesses this Christmas? Dave and I set up The London Botanists in 2018 after realising no other CBD brand resonated with us, or had our shared ethos. We wanted to create and sell simple but effective products, derived from really high quality ingredients – so we did. The great thing about buying from small businesses like ours is that as well as contributing towards the local economy, you can guarantee it’s a product the founders really believe in. Because our CBD has been tested on countless friends and family members (as many of you will know!) it means you can really trust what you’re buying – and that there’s heart behind it.
Want to know what we are doing for Christmas this year?
When it comes to Christmas Day, we’re scaling things back a little this year. After hosting for a record-breaking 15 people in 2018, we plan on enjoying a quiet Christmas at home for just the three of us. But that doesn’t mean missing out on the festivities – in fact, we’ve been busy visiting some of our favourite Christmas markets already. Keen to get stuck in, too? Then I recommend diarising a trip to our lovely stockists Daylesford in the Cotswolds next November [https://www.daylesford.com/events/wellchild-christmas-fair-at-daylesford-3] to pick up some gorgeous gifts, in aid of children’s charity WellChild (this year’s is sadly done and dusted). We also plan on heading to Winchester Cathedral’s Christmas Market [https://www.winchester-cathedral.org.uk/winchester-cathedral-christmas-market-and-ice-rink-2019] with its very own ice-skating rink and over 100 magical chalets to explore. If we find time, Oxford’s Broad Street offering [https://www.oxfordchristmasmarket.co.uk/] looks pretty magical, too. See you there?

The Happy News
Need some last-minute gift inspiration? Send someone special a subscription to The Happy News [https://thehappynewspaper.com], a newspaper created by Emily Coxhead to share uplifting, positive news only. What started as a tiny Kickstarter campaign is now a fully-fledged quarterly paper, designed to add a little sunshine to your day. Sweet!
Been overdoing the Christmas parties? We know the feeling. Milk thistle contains silymarin, a compound of antioxidant, antiviral, anti-inflammatory flavonoids that fight damage from free radicals. The best bit is that studies suggest it can help liver function, so there’s really no better time to stock up…
Featuring some of our favourite CBD cocktail recipes (including vegan and non-alcoholic versions) we’re excited to say our very first book is out now!
Pick up your copy here and treat guests (or just yourself) to an impressive array of post-dinner tipples.
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas, and thank you for your support this year!
